Ahh finally we are back on "the basement" with picks and i'm not going to lie the spread is the only way to go here. So lets get started.
Home team in CAPS......
PANTHERS (+10.5)over Cowboys -If Jessica Simpson was making her way to the Queen City i'd GIVE Dallas 20 and don't think they would cover even against the hapless Panthers. Anyway, i look for Panthers rookie Matt Moore to have a decent day throwing the ball agianst the Horse Collar-less Cowboys secondary so i'm no doubt takeing the points here and the questions about Romo's thumb still linger.
Packers (-8.5)over BEARS -Kyle Orton vs. Brett Favre. Any questions?
Browns (-3) over BENGALS -The Bengals have given up as evidenced by their loss the 49ers. I am taking Derek, Braylon, and Kellen in a rout. By the way wasn't Marvin Lewis a defensive coach?
Dolphins (+22) over PATS -If they weather is good i am going to regret this.......
Texans (+7) over COLTS -Colts will not play their players much at all. They have enouch bumps and brusies aa it is and they have #2 in the AFC locked up no matter what.
LIONS (-5) over Chiefs - I long for the days of Herm Edwards on Hard Knocks. Hopefully, Herm will remain as coach and we can at least have another season of Him. BTW i am predicting a Herm soundbite after this one. I have no comment on the Lions and the toliet they decided to flush their season down.
Redskins (+5) over VIKINGS - I'm already nervous about the thoughts of A.D. running for 250. However, i'm putting 10 in the box and letting Jackoson go against my 'Skins secondary with LaRon Landry bringing the wood and playing centerfield. Needless to say the Jackson thoughts make me smile.......GO 'SKINS!
Eagles (+3) over SAINTS -McNabb is auditioning for teams and i am going to take the Eagles in a upset.
BILLS (+3) over Giants -Kevin Everett will be in the house! This will be more than enough motivation for the Bills to play hard. The Bills i think are a good team just so happens they play in the AFC. If they were in the NFC they could be a contender.
JAGUARS (-13) over Raiders - How do the 'Jags have nobody on the Pro Bowl? Did that really happen? Also, shout out to Fred Taylor (one of the most underrated backs in history) for getting his 10,000 yards. Watch out for the Jags in the playoffs, they are my Super Bowl sleeper.
Jets (+8.5) over TITANS -Jets are getting a litte better and a little more better. The Titans are getting worse and a little more worse. Lets just hope Pac Man doesn't decide to take out the whole Jets team before the game though that may be the Titans only hope.
Bucs (-6) over 49ERS -Terrible game. No Comment. Real quick though, this is a LOCK.
CARDINALS (-10) over Falcons -Bobby Petrino is a clown.
Ravens (+10.5) over SEAHAWKS -The Seahawks stink bomb is coming........remember i told you so.
CHARGERS (-8.5) over Broncos -Lets not forget the fact Norv Turner is still a terrible coach. The Broncos are ready to go home and be down with a awful year for them. The Chargers will let you down in the playoffs........write that down.
Cowboys (-10.5) over PANTHERS: Matt Moore & Co. just do not have the talent to beat a hungry Cowboys team looking for home field throughout. (Editors Note: I REALLY wish they did, but they don’t)
Browns (-3) over BENGALS: Week 2: 52-45 Browns in an “upset” when the Bengals were supposed to battle for the division and the Browns were in a rebuilding state. Funny how 14 weeks later, the Bengals cant beat the 49ers (the Shaun Hill 49ers) and the Browns are 1 win (or a Titans loss) away from clinching a playoff spot. Oh how the tables have turned.
Colts (-7) over Texans: Flip flopped with this one for a while. Neither team has much to play for this week, with the Texans eliminated and the Colts having the 2 seed locked up. Ill go with the team that’s in higher spirits though.
BILLS (+3) over Giants: Eli Manning in the snow. Tom Coughlin coaching Eli Manning in the snow. Kevin Everett watching Tom Coughlin coach Eli Manning in the snow from the sideline. Shockey, Ward, and Kiwi all nursing their fibulas together. Yikes!
LIONS (-5) over Chiefs: I find it hard to believe the Lions will end their season losing every game after starting off so promising, but who knows anymore. Their usually anemic run game will even get a touchdown while the aerial attack continues. Kitna throws 3 INT’s though, just for old times sake.
JAGUARS (-13) over Raiders: I’ll just put it out there. I love the Jaguars. If not for the Giants, this would be my team. One of the best RB tandems in the league, a QB who does nothing to lose games, and a fast powerful defense. All of this, and not one pro-bowler??
Eagles (+3) over SAINTS: Westbrook. Westbrook. Westbrook. Westbrook. Westbrook. Also, why would Reggie Bush even think about rushing back from his injury, and why would the Saints even entertain the thought?
Packers (-8.5) over BEARS: How bad do you think the Packers want the road to Arizona to go through Lambeau? I think bad enough to revenge their only loss in the division in a big way. Kyle Orton? I would rather run his former understudy Kyle Smith out there and take my chances. Any way to set this up?
CARDINALS (-10) over Falcons: I have no words.
Buccaneers (-6) over 49ERS: If you took the top back up player at every position in the league, wouldn’t this team be light years better than the 49ers? I think we should call General Goddell and see if this can be something implemented in the Pro-Bowl activities. Or even better, we could have a celebrity game, where anyone famous who wants to suit up gets a chance at Shaun Hill and the suddenly soft Frank Gore. I’m guessing that with Denzel at coach, The Rock at LB, and Adam Sandler at QB the celebs are favored in that game. I feel sorry for Patrick Willis, I really do.
Jets (+8.5) over TITANS: Jets are not that bad. Titans are not that good. Time for the Jets to play spoiler, and by doing so they’ll lock up the last 3 spots in the AFC playoffs for the Steelers, Browns, and Jags.
Dolphins (+22) over PATRIOTS: 1972 Dolphins, meet the 2007 Patriots. If Don Shula and the boys could come out of retirement to make sure 16-0 doesn’t happen I’m sure they would. Unfortunately, these Dolphins have about as much a chance of winning as the Mets would have of surviving in the AL East. Pats win easy, but I think the Dolphins have enough pride to keep it close.
Ravens (+10.5) over SEAHAWKS: Why not? The Seahawks couldn’t beat the Panthers last week, and the Ravens are tired of hearing how bad they are. Troy Smiths got a Heisman, now maybe he can grab his first NFL victory.
VIKINGS (-6.5) over Redskins: I need both of these teams to lose, but that’s not possible so I instead will tell you a sad sad tale. Team Ins was cruising along in the fantasy playoffs, and was one game away from the finals. Up 21 with only MNF to go, only Adrian Peterson stood in my way. The result? A good old fashioned 22 point performance. If you cant beat em, join em.
CHARGERS (-8.5) over Broncos: LT2 is reallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll good.
